The National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB) is to hold a 'Meet the Patrons' event later this month, giving commercial advisers the opportunity to build relationships with the lenders still active in the sector.
The event will be held on 24 February at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, with around 25 lenders committed to attending, including Ashley Commercial Finance, Bridgebank, Davenham, NatWest Bank and Tiuta.
The day is free to NACFB members, with the trade body emphasising that the event allows intermediaries to discuss with lenders the current issues in the commercial market.
Nikki Cann, associate director at the trade body, said the event would be useful for brokers new to the market, as a means of building new relationships, and also provides more experienced advisers with an opportunity to broaden their options.
Cann added that it was particularly pleasing to see so many lenders attending. "This is not much of a drop from when the market was at its peak. There is still business out there to be written, it is just a bit tougher than it was," she commented.
The NACFB said the Meet the Patrons event is just one of a series of events that it has planned to help its members. It is also to hold its first Asset Based Finance training day in London at the end of March, and a regional workshop sponsored by PKF, which will offer an insight into PR and marketing and the business opportunities in helping a business back from the brink.
