News - Critical illness
Mortgage Solutions | 03 Oct 2008 | 10:35
Royal Liver’s Progress has made some significant enhancements to its critical illness (CI) cover product, designed to benefit consumers and give IFAs more options when discussing CI with their clients.
The changes are the result of detailed market research, including feedback from IFAs and consumers. Not only are they likely to improve the overall value for money proposition of the product, they will also help to offer more clarity in terms of what is meant by a CI.
40 illnesses will now be covered, including nine new conditions including bacterial meningitis, cardiomyopathy, encephalitis and open heart surgery.
Stephen Edwards, head of protection products at Progress from Royal Liver, said: “We now cover every condition available in the market which we consider critical. The improvements add real value in terms of paying extra claims. Whilst the rarer conditions might already be covered under TPD, we decided to include them as separate conditions to provide clarity and confidence that they are covered.”
