Turmoil makes membership essential - AMI

Mortgage Solutions | 18 Apr 2008 | 10:37

The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) has marked its fifth birthday by claiming that with the current market turmoil, there has never been a more crucial time to join the trade body.

Chris Cummings, director general of AMI, said the body had lobbied hard to protect members interests during good times and bad. He added: "The onset of market turmoil has seen AMI work even harder to ensure our members' voice is heard at all political and regulatory levels and there has never been a more crucial time to join the trade body."

Richard Farr, director of AMI, added: "We have been successful in protecting commission, changing a European Directive to ensure members could still receive commission payments, and will shortly be releasing a paper outlining our suggested solutions to the current credit crunch."
